OUR YOUNG WOMEN TEMPLE TREK !~

The Temple Trek was planned long before I was made the YW President. The original plan was to walk from the Prison area in Kuna to the Boise Temple. (Somewhere around 7 miles) The Stake Presidency didn't feel good about the route so we changed it to where we would walk from Barber Park to Ann Morrison Park in Boise but then the river flooded and a lot of the Green Belt is ankle deep in water SOoooooooo..... We changed it again! We walked from the Church on Sunny Lane in Nampa .......................... (Here we all are at our starting point!)

We walked to the Green Belt and continued on it .....................

to the section on Iowa ........................

It was overcast BUT we were blessed and it didn't rain on us!

We stopped 5 different places to rest and at each stop one of the Leaders would talk about their trek to the Temple. We want to encourage the girls to make getting to the Temple a priority in their lives.

We had to cross over some major streets and Chelsee was our designated flag gal! She made sure the cars stopped for us and did it with flare!

When we got back to the Canyon building, the Relief Society had made us delicious sack lunches!! We enjoyed eating them in the gym and rested up a bit and then ...................

we bussed the girls to the Boise Temple where I spoke to them about my trek to the Temple.
I took several pictures of the girls at the fountain .............

and in front of the temple . We are going to be making picture frames in August and they will put the picture in it.

"PICTURE ME AT THE TEMPLE" activity!

Some don't seem to take it very serious but I really hope and pray they will grasp the importance of being "Guardians of Virtue" so one day they will be worthy to enter and partake of the Spirit there.

It was a good day and a fun activity!
