We have been using the ideas (passed down from previous Presidency) for the Young Women's Birthdays! When they 1st enter YW they get a kit with that holds their Personal Progress Book, their journal, Especially for Youth book and True to the Faith!
It has a small pocket on the front where the girls can put their names!
4 pockets inside for the books and a small pocket in the middle to hold pens or pencil.
They are AWESOME! The fabric was donated by sisters in the ward and several sisters helped sew them for the girls. They were each able to pick which one they wanted on our New Beginnings night. Now when a new girl come in she is given one with all she needs inside!
On their Birthdays (ages 12, 14 and 16) they are given an inexpensive purse (from the $dollar store) with some things in it . ie: comb, mirror, hand sanitizer, Kleenex, lip gloss, nail polish etc.
They are really cute BUT as a new Presidency, we have decided that when they are gone ..... they are gone and we will come up with something a little less expensive. When I know what that is I will post it!
On the odd birthdays (13, 15, and 17) the girls were being given a small picture of the Savior.
I found these cute little tins at Michael's Craft Store for $1.00. They fit one cookie perfectly!
I thought it was a nice little gift to give along with the picture of the Savior for the odd Birthdays!
Inexpensive and yet personal!
I think the girls will like them! After all, WHO DOESN'T LIKE FOOD!
